If you picked up the April 10 edition of El Pueblo Latino, you might have noticed a familiar face on the cover: Dr. Kiyota Garcia, Dean of Student Initiatives at STCC.
Garcia was pictured with a student in the Student Learning Commons as part of a feature article titled “Nueva decana se conecta con estudiantes de STCC.”
The article is a translated version of a piece titled “New dean at STCC makes a connection with her students.”
We’re excited to see El Pueblo Latino translating articles at STCC into Spanish. In the most recent edition, El Pueblo Latino has published an STCC article about the STEM Center, which introduces the new HSI STEM Grant activity director Stephanie Brown.
The article is titled, “STEM Center trabaja para ayudar a los estudiantes a prosperar.”
El Pueblo Latino is a weekly newspaper published in Springfield by The Republican. It is distributed every Thursday to more than 286 locations in Western Massachusetts.
Another area publication focused on Hispanic and Latinix issues, El Sol Latino, also picks up many of our articles. The monthly publication, based in Amherst, publishes in Spanish and English.
