October not only is a time for Halloween, fall colors and cooler temperatures, but it’s a month to be aware of cybersecurity.
National Cybersecurity Awareness Month in October comes with a theme from Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the National Cybersecurity Alliance: Do Your Part, #BeCyberSmart.
As part of the month-long awareness campaign, Information Technology (IT) will share tips and resources with the STCC community to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity and ensure that all individuals have the information and tools they need to be safer and more secure online.
Weekly themes this year are:
- Week of October 4 (Week 1): Be Cyber Smart
- Week of October 11 (Week 2): Phight the Phish!
- Week of October 18 (Week 3): Explore. Experience. Share. – Cybersecurity Career Awareness Week
- Week of October 25 (Week 4): Cybersecurity First
