Springfield Technical Community College’s Professional Day, which returns in person, will be held Thursday, Sept. 1, from 8:45 a.m. to 2:50 p.m.

The keynote speaker, Dr. Adrian Haugabrook, who serves as Executive Vice President and Managing Director of the Social Impact Collaborative, Southern New Hampshire University, will deliver his address at 9 a.m.
Dr. Haugabrook has committed his career – which spans over three years – to influencing access, equity and opportunity in the United States and abroad by leading strategy, growth and scale, social policy and change initiatives in both higher education and non-profit sectors.
His keynote is titled Leveraging our Technical Mission for Innovation.Dr. Haugabrook will also conduct a workshop on Leveraging Advisory Boards for faculty with external advisory board responsibilities.
At lunch (noon-12:50 p.m.), the recipient of the Joseph J. Deliso Sr. Endowed Chair will be announced.
Professional Day will be held in Scibelli Hall (Building 2). The program includes a variety of sessions, ranging from discussions about cybersecurity and grading for equity to issues related to Title IX and student privacy. (Look for a complete program to be sent separately). Note: There are two optional (bonus) sessions being held 3 p.m.-3:50 p.m. in other buildings. One is an instructional designers support session. Another is a simulation demonstration.
Registration is required for adjuncts and begins at 8:30am. Attendance for active adjunct faculty is voluntary; however, those attending will be eligible to receive $100 for the day or $50 for half of the day. Adjuncts, register on campus at the door.
