SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Springfield Technical Community College congratulates Professor Aimee Dalenta who has joined the BusinessWest “40 Under Forty” Class of 2023.
Each year, BusinessWest recognizes the success and contributions of 40 outstanding young professionals under the age of 40 for their business accomplishments as well as philanthropic involvement and community service.
Other STCC staff, faculty and alumni have been selected in previous years.
According to BusinessWest, “40 Under Forty” not only recognizes young talent, it elevates expectations and perceptions of the region and serves as an instrument for economic development in Western Mass.
Dalenta, the Early Childhood Education coordinator at STCC, joined the college in 2019. Prior to coming to STCC, she was a classroom teacher. She has owned and operated her own preschool and served as an educational consultant.
She told BusinessWest one of her proudest professional moments was earning her doctorate in education. According to the article, which was written by Mark Morris, she sought her degree while her youngest child was a toddler.
“It was four grueling years to earn the doctorate, but it was a labor of love,” Dalenta said.
Dalenta told BusinessWest that STCC offers an opportunity to teach a wide range of students, from those just out of high school to older adults seeking a career change.
“Students in the course can be in their 50s and 60s, and they will collaborate with a 21-year old,” she stated in the article. “They learn from each other, and I’m learning from them. It’s a cool environment.”
The article states BusinessWest will hold a gala June 15 at The Log Cabin in Holyoke to honor Dalenta and the other members of this year’s “40 Under Forty” class.
