The Occupational Therapy Assistant and Physical Therapist Assistant Programs are offering their inaugural Stay Active & Independent for Life (SAIL) program beginning on September 27.

SAIL is a strength, balance and fitness class for adults. Classes will be twice a week for approximately 10 weeks of the semester. The program includes a period of continuous movement designed to get your heart rate up, followed by a series of balance, strengthening and flexibility exercises intended to improve your mobility and independence. It’s fun and it’s free! More information about SAIL can be found HERE.

Classes will be held every Tuesday and Thursday from 2 pm – 3 pm in Building 20, room 91.

If you are interested in joining us for the first class on September 27, please respond to this email. Our first class will be an information session and fitness check prior to kicking off on Thursday, September 29. If you have a family member or friend that you think could also benefit from this program, please feel free to share this information with them.

Our students are excited about offering this program to the campus community. If you have any questions and would like more information about this program or our campus rehab clinic, give me a call or send an email.

We will be sending out information on our pro bono campus rehab clinic in a later email, but if you have been thinking about accessing PT or OT services, please consider our programs.
