With the launch date set for Jan. 3, Springfield Technical Community College announces end-user training sessions for the new STCCNet Portal.

STCC faculty and staff can choose in-person or Zoom training on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, Dec. 5, 12:15-1:15 p.m., in-person, IT training room (Building 16, Room 377)
  • Wednesday, Dec. 6, 12:15 p.m.-1:15 p.m., Zoom

The launch of the new portal in January “marks a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to provide you with an enriched digital intranet experience,” according to Mary Kaselouskas, vice president and chief information officer at STCC.

An interdepartmental working group formed in the spring 2023 to consider a replacement for the STCCNet Portal with the goal of finding a more modern and user-friendly solution.

Training sessions are part of an effort to ensure the transition from the old portal to new one is as seamless as possible.

What are the portal features?

The portal will include new features such as:

  • Dashboard with Widgets: The transformed portal boasts a sleek and modern design. Personalized widgets have been integrated for Blackboard, Gmail and other applications to enhance navigation and usability, providing users with a seamless experience.
  • Campus Resources and Groups: This feature fosters collaborations within the campus community through the newly designed pages and groups.
  • Campus Calendar and Announcements: Never miss an important campus event with the calendar and announcements feature.
  • Mobile App: The mobile app has the same information, widgets, tools, pages and other features as the web portal, creating a comprehensive, cohesive experience.

The training sessions will offer an opportunity to learn more about the functionalities and optimizations of the portal.
