Springfield Technical Community College Professor Gary Mullett was one of six inducted into the NJCAA Men’s Golf Coaches Association Hall of Fame Class of 2022.

In an announcement, the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) said the coaches were named “after tremendous success and dedication to the sport.”

Athletic Director Jenkin Gould said he said he was delighted to hear the news.

“Congratulations to Coach Mullett on his distinguished and successful career in the classroom and on the golf course,” Gould said. “His dedication to the Springfield Tech mission has led to the success of hundreds of students and student-athletes over the decades. This honor from the NJCAA is well earned and deserved.”

Mullett is the only coach from Massachusetts to be named to this year’s Hall of Fame class. Others are from Texas, Alabama, Illinois and Indiana.

Professor Mullett has received recognition for his academic work. Last year, he was named a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the highest grade for the professional organization for electrical and electronic engineers. In 2012, Mullett was named recipient of the Anthony M. Scibelli Endowed Chair.
