As an instructional designer, this is a question that is often asked of me. My immediate response is why not? Think of everything else, in our lives, we do online. Why not expand your learning or teaching opportunities by taking or teaching an online course at STCC. There are benefits for both students and faculty.

Benefits For Students

Flexibility and scheduling

Choosing to learn online allows you to create your own study time. Within the timeframe of your course and professor’s syllabus, students are able to; get online, interact with classmates, read/watch course materials, and connect with their professor virtually. This allows flexibility in using your time, when you have it and not being tied to traveling to a physical classroom.

Career Advancement

The flexibility of learning online, means you can take classes at your pace, after work or on weekends. Completing course work and even earning a degree shows initiative and ambition. Your current or prospective employer might take notice and your resume becomes for valuable.
