With Afghanistan capturing headlines and the 20th anniversary of 9/11 approaching, Springfield Technical Community College will feature a conversation with photojournalist Ben Brody.

Brody will sit down for a Zoom conversation with STCC professor Sondra Peron on Sept. 10 from noon- 1 p.m. as part of “Carberry Conversations,” a series of virtual talks throughout the academic year between Peron and several past exhibiting artists and photographers whose work has been on view at the Amy H. Carberry Fine Arts Gallery since 2013.

The war photographs of Brody, a Southampton resident, were on display at the Amy H. Carberry Fine Arts Gallery in 2016. His exhibition was titled “Afghanistan: Endgame.”

Brody has focused primarily on the aftermath of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. He has photographed the American wars in Iraq and Afghanistan while pioneering a unique visual approach conveying the absurdity and unintended consequences of those wars.
